Portraits

[this is a ] Civil War portrait…I’ve never really been a fan of history per se, but the Civil War has always interested me; I feel connected to it, and it’s because of all the artifacts that we have from our family.

Our great-great grandfathers, at least four of them, served for the Union. This [portrait] was actually an uncle; his name was Daniel P. Wiseheart…in the 1860 census it says that he was 14 years old, so he served as a very young man as many of the soldiers did.

I feel a connection when I can look at the artifact and see the pictures of these people that fought in this war. So many people died, and we are lucky to be here.

This belongs in a Civil War Museum or a Museum of Relics of People Who Need to be Remembered
