It struck me that they have something very important in common: this is not a very good cutting board it wobbles terribly and I have to jam a rag under the corner… and this is basically useless to drink out of. We keep salt in it but it’s not very good at holding salt…

We have them because this was the first thing I gave to my girlfriend and this was a thing I got in a far off land so we can’t get rid of them. They belong side by side in the Museum of Unwanted Possessions under the heading accidental sentimentality.
