WWI artifact “Sword to Ploughshare”

This looks like a vase; it’s brass and you can see that it’s hammered with all kinds of interesting and beautiful designs, but in fact this is a shell casing. It’s from WWI; these shells, as best as I can tell, came from Italy from my grandparents.

These last two things [are made of] the same material, we think from much smaller shells. These are thimbles.

These belong in the Dr. Strangelove Museum of Repurposed Weapons of Mass Destruction
