Media sharing artifact

I brought a VHS tape, which, although an artifact itself, I called it on my tag a media sharing artifact. This particular tape is how anime enthusiasts got their fix in the 1980s as I did myself. This was back in the day when there was no Internet, pre-Internet. [Audience: “What?!”] To share your enthusiasms, you first had to attend a Star Trek convention, where you met the woman who was in the US Navy, stationed in Japan, and would dub anime for you, if you sent her all of the requisite items.

The interesting thing to me is that we continue to share media, whether its user generated or just enthusiast shared. I am not married to my particular era of sharing, and I imagine the Museum of Culture Sharing.

This belongs in the Museum of Culture Sharing
