“New homes”

I wanted to bring an object that wasn’t really an object and put it in the museum of the future, “the future museum of the non-material”.  One thing I brought is the lease to a new apartment. So a lease is a promise for the future but not really a [physical] thing.

And  then I’m filling this new apartment [that I just rented] with other people’s old things.  I’m buying lots of vintage furniture because it’s what I can afford right now. Maybe I have somebody’s grandparent’s couch. The strange thing about buying somebody’s grandparent’s couch is it seems old but it doesn’t have a history [that I know]. For me it’s just new.

So here are two non-things for the future museum of the non-material.

This belongs in the Museum of Future Non-objects
