This is a cookbook that I inherited via my grandmother when we were clearing out her house published in 1925 by a finishing school in Milwaukee. Of course when we came upon this my immediate thought was, “I should cook from this.” So, my very darling parents put up with me and this idea. I should mention that this cookbook already had many warning flags. For example, they recommend covering the table with a silence cloth of felt padding or asbestos. So you can see what I kinda set myself up for. In choosing this menu my two categories were how weird is it and will we actually eat it? […] So I invited my parents over with the caveat that if it’s terrible we can order pizza. […] It was in every way a failure.
